This year I have had a very busy year in all facets of the Real Estate Business!

On the sales side, I now have a total of 5 Realtors on my team and everyone is full time and has big goals this year! A lot of my workday is coaching and supporting them and making sure they have everything they need to be successful.

The other part of my job is primarily working with sellers looking to sell their homes this year and move. There is a lot of that going on and everyone is reevaluating where they want to live. I’m also working with a couple of buyers per month and surprisingly I’ve been working with everyday folks that are purchasing an investment property to begin building their own Real estate portfolio which has been a ton of fun!

On the personal portfolio side, we’ve purchased 4 properties this year! 2 with business partners and 2 on our own! It blows my mind every time I think about it. I remember struggling to purchase our first home and now we’ve already purchased 4 this year and we plan to purchase many more this year.

This year I’m doing some things differently. I feel like in the past I’ve moved very carefully and underestimated what God can do in my life. Now looking back at God’s faithfulness and the network of resources he’s placed around me I really feel like with His help there is nothing I can’t do! I realize how many little black girls and women are looking at me to motivate them and I’m no longer going to count out what God can do. I have a running joke I say now which is I no longer will say what I won’t do…..

Currently, I am finishing up a House flip that we bought with our best friends and it has been great! The Magnolia House is on the market and with the limited inventory in our market, we are hoping to sell it asap! I’ll share more in next month’s newsletter on my learnings from this project because I definitely learned A LOT. The best part about it was working with my best friend! She is super talented and we both are getter-done women and work very well together!

We finally bought the run-down house next door to the Shotgun property! I emailed the owner every month for 2 years before he agreed to sell it to us! This proves that persistence works! This project is currently in permits and should be ready to begin construction soon. We plan to flip this property this year.

We bought a duplex with my business partner and we plan to use a voucher program to rent it out. I’m working on a light renovation on one side of this property and the other side is ready to move in.

Last but not least we bought a cabin! It is situated on 2.5 acres in a little town an hour north of Atlanta. It’s a small quirky cabin that we call our “Starter cabin.” We originally hoped we could find something with at least 4 bedrooms that could house all of our family, but instead we got a 3 bedroom cozy cabin in a lake community with homes selling near $500,000! Our hope is that with our renovations we can improve the value, enjoy it for a few years and then sell it and buy something larger with more of the features that we originally wanted. We are grateful and excited to make memories in this place in the meantime. Stay tuned as we share more about our cabin renovations and the process of buying a vacation home.
