I read a couple of great books this month!

I love reading a mix of books because depending on what I’m going through and how I feeling pretty much determines what I would like to read.

Free To Live: Create A Thriving Unschooling Home

This book helped to spell out the basic principles of unschooling and helped create questions to consider when creating your unschooling home. It helped to continue to challenge the status quo of what we think is most important with education and learning. This was one of my favorite quotes in the book.

“Real learning is learning that is understood and remembered. And what helps someone understand something and remember it? Connecting it to something they already understand and remember.”

If you are new to Unschooling I would definitely recommend this book to help provide some real-life examples of how to think through creating your unschooling life and questions to think through on how to handle various situations that you may encounter.

Landlording on Autopilot

Wow is all I can say about this book. It is super practical and straight to the point like I like it lol. It provides direct examples of issues you can run into while managing long-term rental properties. While reading this book I can’t tell you how many paragraphs I screenshot to my team to tell new things we needed to incorporate immediately in our business that we were not doing.

I highly recommend this book to any long-term real estate investor new or old. I think that we can all learn some great gems from this book!

Kid Activist

The boys and I have begun reading this book aloud together this month! Your kids are never too old to read together! It really ends up being a sweet time of them asking questions and talking through what we’ve learned. Reading a book together with your kids is a great conversation starter!

So far I love the everyday activists featured in this book. Some of the names are familiar but some are names I’ve never heard before! This is a great short read that you and your family will enjoy reading together or independently.
